The Team

  • Loren Burnett

    Loren is an experienced and qualified Structural Engineer who worked at Powell Fenwick Consulting for over 10 years was previously the president of the University if Canterbury Engineering Society. Over this time, Loren has developed a strong understanding of construction techniques and methodologies in New Zealand, with a particular emphasis on earthquake design and practical design.

     In 2018, Loren and Cameron formed LC Property, now known as Oxford Capital, and are joined by Brooke currently working on projects with a value more than $20m.

    Loren leads the design, consenting and quality assurance of our developments and plays an integral role in maintaining client and supplier relationships. Through his industry and local connections, Loren constantly introduces us to the best people who are not only both technical experts but reliable and personable. And because of this engineering background, Loren is easily able to understand technical designs and specifications and critique if required.

    Loren enjoys CrossFit, mountain biking (in both rain and shine) which gives him level head which helps to coach our team through any difficult challenges.

  • Cam Burnett

    Cameron is a qualified quantity surveyor with a degree in construction economics. For the last 10 years, he has worked as a project manager & development manager in New Zealand and the UK. Most recently, an Associated Director at Gardiner & Theobald London and prior to that at AECOM. As a director of Oxford Capital, Cameron leads the finances, development management, and technical project management at Oxford Capital.

     Cameron has extensive and deep knowledge of property & construction and has worked on major commercial and residential projects totalling an in excess of $1 billion dollars that includes Auckland International Airport, Cambridge House Hotel London, Connect Apartments Auckland and Prebbleton Estates Christchurch. 

    Cameron is driven and has big aspirations to make Oxford Capital a lasting and sustainable success for generations. He enjoys working with people and uses softer skills to build relationships built on trust and repeat business. Outside of work you’ll see Cameron skiing in the local mountains and trying out the latest craft beers around town. 

  • Brooke Whiting

    Christchurch-born and bred, Brooke started his career at Deloitte and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. As a senior analyst at Deloitte, he looked after key clients such as Ngai Tahu Group and Synlait Milk. 

    Following this, he moved to Consortium Construction and Peebles Group to learn about all facets of property development from two of the best in the game – learning the key feasibility & design secrets from Richard Peebles, while gaining first-hand experience on how to run a successful construction business from his father (and founder of Consortium Construction) Danny Whiting.  

    As Consortium Construction grew and Danny took a step back, Brooke went on to co-own and operate Consortium Construction as General Manager for over 5 years. 

    Now Brooke is shifting his focus to his area of passion – commercial and residential property development.

     Brooke is an avid car enthusiast, part-time mountain biker and father of two beautiful boys – Jensen and Ellis. When not working with the team, Brooke and his wife Lindsay enjoy spending quality time with their two young boys
